About us

Artstation toi tu, Auckland City Council's community art centre has provided
visual art programmes for the community for over 20 years.
Toi tu means to be upstanding in art. Artstation is all about fostering
the arts, making art accessible and providing opportunities for participation in
the visual arts.
The Artstation Gallery shows a new exhibition every
three weeks, representing Auckland's diverse artistic community.
Artstation's open access studios are available
for hire by experienced artists. They include a darkroom, cast glass facility and
a print studio.
Artstation is well-known for high quality adult and children's
art classes. The wide range of visual arts classes are held during the day,
evening, weekends and school holidays.
Housed in a historic building on Ponsonby Road, formerly the Grey Lynn Police Barracks, Artstation is at the centre of one of the city's arts precincts. Artstation is also
home to some leading arts organisations including the Artists Alliance, Auckland
Writers Festival and the Tautai Trust for Pacific artists.
