The Home school arts studio provides an encouraging and supportive space for
children who are schooled at home, to explore their creativity.
In the studio children will develop and extend skills in painting, printing
and sculpture while working on their own ideas and projects.
Please bring an art shirt, a snack and lots of ideas! Maximum enrolment is 8.

Come along to Monday art club and explore your creativity in an encouraging
environment!
We will examine a theme through drawing, painting, sculpture and printing in
a fun and experimental manner. Technical skills will be taught and guided
feedback will be provided on an individual basis.

The Painter's club
Come along to this fun and exciting class to experiment using various drawing
and painting techniques.
Students will be encouraged to explore their creativity in a supportive and
challenging environment. Technical skills will be taught, with guidance and
feedback provided on an individual basis.
Maximum enrolment is 10.
In Betweens - an open workshop
The focus in this workshop will be on developing confidence in previously
explored skills and techniques. We will be using a variety of media including
drawing, painting, collage, clay, 3D construction, photography and printmaking.
Emphasis is on individual development and experimentation. The students will
enjoy one to one tuition in a fun and stimulating environment. Bring art clothes
and a snack.

Art club
This popular art club examines a theme using drawing, painting, printmaking
and sculpture in a fun and experimental manner.
Students are encouraged to explore their own creativity within a supportive

Wakas and Viking boats - children's pottery
In this pottery workshop students will work towards making a beautiful bowl
using their own imaginative ideas. They will learn pottery skills, including
painting with colourful slips and using the wheel resulting in a fully
functional glazed bowl.
Please wear an art shirt and bring a snack. Maximum enrolment is 10.

In Saturday morning Art Club students are encouraged to experiment with a
variety of mediums using their own creative ideas in a fun and stimulating
environment.
Using a theme, technical skills in drawing, painting, sculpture and
printmaking will be taught. Students are provided with individual feedback and
guidance throughout the programme.

Children's open workshop

At the waterhole - clay workshop
In the African desert, all kinds of wild animals are going to the waterhole
to drink!
Students will make animals, as well as a 'lake' platter while modelling soft
clay material and learning sculpting techniques. Please bring morning tea and
wear an art shirt.
Clay works will be ready for collection after 2 November.
Maximum enrolment is 10.
Mixed bag
Come along to this fun art studio for a bit of everything creative! Enjoy
three days of experimenting with clay construction, drawing, painting and
silkscreen printing.
Each day we will learn new art techniques while working on our own creative
ideas. Clay pieces will be ready for collection after 2 November. Please bring
some lunch and wear an art shirt.

The wonderful world of trees - mobile workhop
Together we will identify some of New Zealand's much-loved native trees.
Children will choose 4-5 trees each and using images as reference will draw,
paint and build the glorious pohutukawa, the unique kowhai, rata, manuka,
cabbage...and more! Children will make a mobile with their trees, turning work
into a 3 dimensional 'mini' native forest.
Bring a snack, as well as an art shirt and lots of energy!

Creative adventure
Using fairy tales as a starting point, we are going to create artworks based
on the stories we read. We will be using a variety of media including
paint, charcoal and pastel. Be prepared to get mucky and have fun! Bring

two: Monday 5 to Wednesday 7 October
Animal teapots - pottery workshop
All kinds of funky and unusual animal shapes will be used to create practical
teapots in this exciting pottery class.
After designing their individual teapots, the children will shape the soft
white tableware clay and decorate it with colourful patterns. Everything will be
glazed and fired to turn it into fully functional tableware. Please bring
morning tea and wear an art shirt.
Ceramic teapots will be ready for collection after 2 November.

Tracing the tapa workshop
Tapa is the most distinctive cloth to people of the Pacific Islands. It is
rich and diverse in its shape, form and pattern. This two-day workshop will
explore patterns, shapes and the colours found in tapa. Together we will have
fun working in layered crayon and ink to create beautiful designs. Please bring
your lunch as well as an art shirt and lots of energy! Maximum enrolment is 10.
