Glass jewellery

An introduction to fusing glass on a small scale (new)

This project based course introduces students to glass jewellery. No previous experience with glass is required, as students will learn how to cut and decorate coloured glass with a variety of media including stringers, confetti, metal inclusions and Dichroic (rainbow) glass.

Basic jewellery construction will also be taught including threading, crimping and wirework. The course fee includes basic materials, but students will need to buy their own additional glass and jewellery findings for specialised projects. This workshop is suitable for beginners and intermediate participants.

Maximum enrolment is 8.

Workshop: Fused glass pendants

This 5 hour, project based course introduces students to decorating and fusing glass. Participants will learn how to cut cold glass and decorate it with a variety of media including coloured glass, Dichroic glass, enamels, stringers, confetti and metal inclusions.

There will be an introduction to kiln loading and firing techniques. Students will make three or more fused glass pendants that are available for collection the following week.

Workshop:Dichroic glass jewellery - an introduction to making fused glass jewellery

This 5 hour, project based course introduces participants to decorating and fusing Dichroic (metallic rainbow) glass. Students will learn how to cut and decorate cold glass and learn cold-working techniques such as grinding, engraving and acid etching.

Students are introduced to kiln firing, how to load the kiln and fuse their pieces. Fired pieces are available for collection the following week.
