Arts funding

Auckland City Council believes that community groups should be given the opportunity to identify and manage local arts projects that matter to your community.

If you have an idea for an arts specific project that your group would like to undertake, then Creative Communities funding scheme may be right for you.

What is Creative Communities?

Creative Communities is a funding scheme available to local communities that is delivered by Auckland City Council in partnership with Creative New Zealand.

The scheme focuses on encouraging active arts participation in local arts activity and supporting activities that reflect and celebrate cultural diversity. The funding scheme has five eligibility criteria, and in order to access funding you must meet one of these criteria. Projects do not need to meet all the criteria.

You can also visit the Creative New Zealand website for more information about the range of funding programmes offered.

Arts Alive funding

Other arts funding is available for professional performing arts groups or arts practitioners under the Arts Alive scheme.
