About the event
Adventure seekers can take the once a year challenge to run or mountain bike over the Dual Islands of Motatapu and Rangitoto with a fantastic end goal of establishing the country's largest island conservation park including reintroduction of the kiwi.
The race has four event options, only 20 minutes from the heart of the city and plenty of room for spectators.
This race will excite all mountain bikers and runners and appeal to anyone who loves the outdoors.
Bring along family, friends, and even a tent for those that wish to enjoy the live music, entertainment
at Home Bay, Motutapu Island at the conclusion of the day's races
Auckland City Council is thrilled to be working closely with The DUAL once again to enhance the race day experience even more this year!
An 'Auckland Pit Stop' will be located at the trig station on Motutapu Island, just a short 2km from the finish line at Home Bay.…it's all downhill from there!!
Competitors can refuel at the Pit Stop with jet plane lollies and drink supplies to keep you going on the last stretch to Home Bay.
It's also a great location for family and friends to see all the race action and experience the fantastic sites of Motutapu. We'll have a great space for spectators to relax on bean bags, take in the spectacular scenery and cheer on the competitors
- all while sampling some free refreshments we'll have on hand.
Just a short 2km walk from Home Bay (clearly signposted so you won't get lost!), the first 10 supporters to visit the
'Auckland Pit Stop' will also receive an Auckland merchandise pack worth $80!
See you at the Auckland Pit Stop!
