Traffic management

Thousands of ticket holders make their way to and from Eden Park on rugby game days in Auckland.

On match days, a restricted traffic zone is in place around Eden Park. This means that some roads will be closed to general traffic and detours will be in place:

  • Sandringham Road will be closed between Rossmay Terrace and New North Road for pedestrian safety. Traffic controllers will be onsite to assist
  • a detour will be in place for traffic on Sandringham Road northbound into Kenneth Avenue onto Morningside Drive
  • new controlled crossings will be in place on Sandringham Road to allow pedestrian access from Kingsland Station and Rossmay Terrace (by the Mobil station)
  • roads around Eden Park, including Reimers Avenue, Belmont Avenue, Cricket Avenue and Walters Road will also be closed.
  • parking and traffic restrictions will be in place in the general area to ensure pedestrian safety.
