Go By Bike Breakfast

About the event

Cyclist.

Our annual Go By Bike Breakfast is a great chance for you to join New Zealand's month-long celebration of Bike Wise Month 2010.

Cycling is a healthy and fun way to get around the city, so why not leave the car at home and join Auckland's 13th Go By Bike Breakfast which just gets bigger and better each year.

All you need to do is arrive at the celebratory cycling event on a bike on Wednesday, 17 February 2010 to enjoy a free breakfast, including a Sierra Coffee, great entertainment, displays and prizes.

The event is a celebration of cycling for all cyclists - whether you cycle daily or once in a while.

It's all just about giving this healthy travel option a go using one of Auckland's many cycle routes, enjoying the experience along the way, and then taking part in the celebrations with lots of other cycling enthusiasts.

Riding on the success of last year's new waterfront location, the 2010 Go By Bike Breakfast venue is Te Wero Island at the Eastern end of Viaduct Harbour.

Entering the Viaduct at the junction of Quay and Fanshawe streets, simply cycle straight ahead past Voyager NZ (formerly the NZ National Maritime Museum), and see the event entrance and registration area.

Activities and entertainment on the day

  • Free breakfast - including a free Sierra coffee and muffin
  • Jon Bridges as MC and 91.8 More FM
  • The now-famous Frocks on Bikes
  • Fantastic prizes, including a bike from AvantiPlus, Mt Eden
  • Spot prizes for the biggest company team and best fancy dress
  • Free bike health checks from Adventure Cycles.
