The 2008 ISAF Women's Match Racing World Championship will
be contested in Auckland from 1-6 April.
The Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron (RNZYS)
will host 14 of the highest ranked and most competitive female skippers in the
world. There will be strong representation from Europe, the United States and Australia.
The event has been held annually since 1999. It was organised
in recognition of more and more women wishing to compete on the international
match racing circuit.
This will be the first time a female only yachting event
of world championship status has been held in New Zealand and the South
Pacific.
