Parnell Festival of Roses

Set amongst the colour and vibrancy of newly bloomed roses, this free family festival will feature live music, fine food, poetry, actors, craft stalls and much more.

Spin around the dance floor to classic tunes.
Fashion Show (New)
5pm

Directed by New Yorker Linda Chandler, this is a not-to-be-missed fashion showcase from Parnell boutiques.
French Toast
The trio of Linn Lorkin, Hershal and Peter Scott deliver a charming pot pourri of well-known French chansons sung in French and English.
Body artists (New)
Prepare to be stunned by the colour and creativity of our world-class body artists.
Caoimhe Macfehin
This rising star opened the Zoo music series this year with her effortless alterative country, gothic rock sound.
Lemon Pie
Armed with soulful voices, a xylophone and a melodica this female duo is not to be missed. This will be one of many great surprises at this year's festival.
Kid zone (New)
All day entertainment for the little ones.
Actors and poets
Including Simon Ward of 'A Thousand Apologies' and well known Auckland actress Calandra Smith and Montana Poetry Slam winner 2009 Tim Heath.
Strolling musicians
The main stage is not the only place to hear some great sounds - strolling musicians will entertain throughout the park.

Shona Laing (New)

One of New Zealand's best musicians, a singer songwriter whose work spans 30 years and almost every continent.
Outdoor cinema (New)
8pm

Screening on Saturday evening at sunset, the new outdoor cinema will showcase Oscar Award-winning La Vie en Rose*, based on the life of French singer Edith Piaf.

Parnell Road Market Day, 10am - 4pm
Parnell Road will be festooned with roses and Parnell's shops will have a range of fantastic products on sale at irresistible prices, with street stalls, music and more.

Christmas is just around the corner, so this is the perfect time to do some very enjoyable early present shopping!

Parnell Farmers Market, 8am - noon
Head along for breakfast before buying your seasonal produce, baked foods and artisan goods.

Jubilee Building car park, 545 Parnell Road, between the Library and Museum. Inside the Library itself, help complete the Rose Jigsaw - great for the kids!'

A Japanese flute player of international acclaim whose work seeks to fuse jazz, rock and funk.
Parnell Heritage Society Historic Walk
Meet at Judges Bay just before 3pm to enjoy a historic walk led by Rendell McIntosh, from the Parnell Heritage Society.

Rebecca Le Harle
A classically trained singer-songwriter with residencies at some of Auckland's hottest night spots.
Jennifer Zea
Her entrancing bossa nova sound spans more than 15 years of performances with renowned musicians throughout the world.
Otis Mace, Guitar Ace (New)
Otis Mace brings artfully-constructed comic love ballads and bright pop songs. He has opened for Billy Bragg and the Violent Femmes and is not to be missed.
The Neil Watson Three

They have opened for George Benson and have also worked with Anika Moa, Michael Brecker, Randy Crawford and the Finn Brothers.

FREE bus

Look out for the free double decker festival bus that runs between festival venues all weekend.

The bus will travel between:

  • Parnell Rose Gardens
  • Parnell Road Markets and
  • Parnell Farmers Market

between 10am and 6pm throughout the weekend.
