About the event
Auckland welcomes three prestigious international sailing events to the Waitemata Harbour in March 2010 for the three-week Auckland Festival of Sailing.
The celebration of sailing includes the Omega Auckland Match Racing Regatta, Louis Vuitton
Trophy Auckland and the BMW World Sailing Final.
Auckland Festival of Sailing also includes the Auckland International Boat Show, plus some great off the water activities and entertainment for Aucklanders and visitors to enjoy, with an event village at the Viaduct Harbour.
Voyager celebrates Auckland Festival of Sailing
As many of the world's finest yachtsmen descend on Auckland's Waitemata Harbour for the Auckland Festival of Sailing, Voyager New Zealand Maritime Museum invites Aucklanders to discover how our region's love-affair with sailing began.
For the whole month of March, Auckland region residents can visit the museum galleries and see Blue Water Black Magic
- A Tribute to Sir Peter Blake for just $5 per adult, with free admission for accompanying children aged 14 years or under.
Check out the action on the water!
View fleet racing at the highest international level on Tuesday, 23 March during the BMW World Sailing Cup Final.
Auckland City Council and BMW are putting on two special FREE spectator boat trips for the public at 9.30am and 1.30pm.
After so many Match Racing events played out so far as part of the Auckland Festival of Sailing, this is a chance to see a number of boats sail against each other - which should provide for some very exciting finishes!
Get up close to the action!
Thanks to Auckland City Council, everyone can get up close to the sailing action on free public spectator boat trips running during the two key weekends of the Auckland Festival of Sailing on 13 and 14 and 20 and 21 March.
This once in a lifetime opportunity is limited to the first 120 people per sailing, with two sailings on each day at 9.30am and 1.30pm.
Registrations for a place onboard Olympic Spirit are first come, first served, and open one hour before each sailing time at the departure location, in front of Kermadec bar and restaurant, Viaduct Harbour.
Please note - All persons wanting a place must be present at the registration point. Terms and conditions apply.
