Come down to this year's free That Thing in the Park event to catch local
hip-hop sensations Misfits of Science and Fastcrew performing among a great
line up of music and dance talent.
You can also check out the youth-related stalls and information displays and
get into the 3-on-3 basketball and Singstar competitions.
That Thing in the Park is one of more than 60 free events we proudly produce - aimed specifically at our city's young people.
The event coincides with Youth Week (26 May to 1 June), an annual
celebration of youth coordinated by the New Zealand Association for Adolescent
Health and Development with the support of the Ministry of Youth Development.
Youth Week encourages young people to get involved in their communities,
have a say, influence opinions, showcase their creativity and talent, share
ideas, access information and most of all, have fun.
This year the event will be delivered by the
event management students from
the Music and Audio institute of New Zealand (MAINZ).
