Christmas in Auckland

About the Christmas events

Fireworks.

Whether you prefer to celebrate Christmas on a large-scale or in a smaller, more contemporary way, we have a free event for you.

Auckland's CBD gets into the Christmas spirit early with decorations going up at the end of November, including a 50m high Christmas tree built on the KZ1 America's Cup yacht at the Viaduct Harbour.

There's also the Farmers Santa Parade, and for those who love a sing-a-long, Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park and eight free Christmas events in our local communities.

Until 26 December - Head to Victoria Park and see the spectacular nightly light shows on this seven-storey structure.

Call Santa Line to leave a Christmas wish in one of the four phone booths around the tree, and when you hang up the phone you can watch your wish travel up the tree and off to Santa.

Visitors are encouraged to bring a gift to donate to Women's Refuge.
