Get artsmart at Artstation,
Auckland City's community visual arts centre.
Artstation runs art classes and
workshops for kids year round and special school holiday programmes.
Activities
for kids and teens include
- sculpture
- camera making
- silkscreen printing.
Art classes for home-schooled children are also available.
Ever thought of having a
kids' birthday party with a difference? Artstation offers some great ideas!
The gallery runs special family event days throughout the year
which include a variety of hands-on workshops, performances, entertaining
exhibition tours, demonstrations, theatre and much more.
There are also special
holiday programmes for kids.
Auckland City Libraries
offer hundreds of free events and activities from exhibitions and
meet-the-author sessions to story times and live music.
This is a cool place
for kids which offers everything from exhibitions and events to how
the world works and all its plants, animals and people.

Auckland Zoo is open every day (except Christmas Day). Swing by for the day
or hang out at one of the zoo's many family events.
Auckland Zoo's
Discovery and Learning Centre provides a fun and innovative way for kids to
learn in a living classroom. Booking is essential for education group visits to

Take an interactive journey through time at MOTAT (Museum of Transport & Technology).
Experience the Victorian Village, go
for a tram ride or wander around the vintage cars and huge aircraft collection.
Motat also offers special holiday programmes for kids.

Discover New Zealand's explorative spirit at Voyager New Zealand Maritime
Museum. Explore the museum's interactive galleries, take a harbour cruise on
board a heritage sailing vessel or join in one of the action packed school
holiday programmes.

Stimulate your senses on a tour of the universe at the observatory.
You'll experience 360° theatre with 3500 stars high overhead, plus guided
telescope viewing.

Aotea Centre, THE EDGE is the place to be every Saturday and during the
school holidays. Check their events calendar for the great selection of shows
and activities happening just for children and their families.

skate parks.
