Real Waiheke walks are funded by Auckland City Council and are free.
Start point: Free bus pick-up at the Matiatia ferry terminal at
12.40pm or the Ostend council car park at 1pm
What to bring: Sturdy shoes, snacks, water, small flashlight, rain jacket or
warm jumper
Fitness level: Average to high amount of agility and fitness required. This walk is not
suitable for baby buggies or wheelchairs
Duration: A high amount of agility and fitness resquired for the two hour
walk. However an average fitness one hour option is available for those that
still want to learn the fascinating story of the island's early pioneers. The
bus will return everyone back by 4.30pm to Ostend and Matiatia.

Please protect our plants, wildlife and natural heritage:
- remove rubbish
- keeps streams and the sea clean
- keep to the track (respect private property)
- do not light fires
- please keep dogs on a leash and remove droppings. Click here or
