Greater Te Huruhi boundary walk

Introduction | Walkway guide and map | Additional information

Introduction

This walk begins and ends in Oneroa Village. Covering over 140 years of history, it links a series of coastal reserves and walkways with quiet island roads. You will get to walk along the distinctive boundary line that kept 'Greater Te Huruhi' as one of the last areas of Maori owned land on Waiheke. You'll see many classic Kiwi batches as well as a restored 1930's School and a 1950's Movie theatre! And you'll find a secret broadleaf forest - possibly the best one this side of Onetangi.

See Walkway guide and map for more information about how Oneroa developed into the main hub of Waiheke Life, learn about Waiheke's very own "Tiptop" corner and what ever happened to The Ascot movie theatre?

We would love to hear about your experience, please provide your feedback using the online survey form.
