This part of the Plan signals the future direction for the Hauraki Gulf Islands section of the City of Auckland.

Based on the sustainable management of the natural and physical resources which are available within the district, the Plan seeks the achievement of quality living environments, robust social and economic growth and a healthy community.

The Plan will enable the continued protection, preservation and conservation of the Hauraki Gulf Islands in conjunction with development and land use activities at a scale and intensity compatible with the land use capability of the Islands.
